Come springtime, and the milder weather outside, I couldn’t wait to shed all my thick trackpants and sneakers and get into something a little more feminine.
Living here for one year now, I am beginning to understand why people shop according to the seasons and put away clothes and habits like that, which I never quite understood before.
I also never used to understand what was so great about Zara earlier, either. In India, they just seem to have overpriced, revealing, oddly sized clothes that looked good in the shop but horrible on me in the dressing room.
Here, the Zara stock is more forgiving – not only available in larger sizes, but also providing some solid basics that, for the most part, are reasonably priced. There is also a healthy second-hand Zara store that’s not only well-stocked but with quality pretty much as good as new.
Here are a few pieces I got recently.

I had to seriously hold back as there were so many well-made, well-fitting garments. Was very tempted by these bomber jackets below, which look and feel much better in real life than in these pictures, but I really couldn’t justify it, as I have enough warm clothes to last me the next two years at least.
