Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted at That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week you compile a list of ten books that coincide with that week’s theme. You can find everything you need to know about joining here!
This week’s theme is all about the books on our Spring TBR!
I have been on a bad reading streak since my dad passed away December last year. Read just one book on my Winter reading list. I’ve also been blogging very little lately. However, today’s TTT prompted me to wake up a bit and try to bring back some of my interests. I do have a very interesting pile of books, just need to find the motivation to actually pick them up and read.
Here’s my spring TBR.
- The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K Jemisin – I have moved away from the high fantasy of late, but I think it’s time to bring it back, and I’ve never read any of her books before. So, I’m starting with this book, the first of the Inheritance trilogy.
- The Broken Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin – The second book in the series.
- The Kingdom of Gods by N.K. Jemisin – Yes, I am making a big commitment here.
- Learned by Heart by Emma Donoghue – This was an impulse pick based on the blurb’s mention of Madras, my hometown.
- Piranesi by Susanna Clarke – A book on my winter TBR, I hope to get to it this spring.
- The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern – Another fantasy on my list. I started and stopped it early last month, but I hope to return to it soon. I also want to reread a few sections of the book where my attention started to wander, and I realize I missed a few connections later on.
- Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan – To be honest, I don’t think I’ll be able to get to the rest of the books on my TTT, but keeping it here because I do check my previous lists when I am at a loss for something new to read.
- The Vegetarian by Han Kang – Another book from my winter TBR list. I hope to be able to squeeze in this slim novella.
- Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller – Looking for a graphic series, and I recently bought this hardbound, so I hope to enjoy this.
- Circe by Madeline Miller – Odysseus was one of my favorite characters in The Song of Achilles, and I can’t wait to read more of his adventures in Circe.
What books do you have on your spring TBR? Which books on my TBR would you recommend I read first? Any books you suggest I drop?
My sincere condolences to you. Glad you are getting back into your hobbies. I adore Circe! And the Hundred Thousand Kingdoms series looks so good too 😀
I understand the feeling of being unmoored after losing a parent. It’ll be 2 years next month since my dad passed, some days are easier than others. Be gentle with yourself.

I hope you feel a bit more motivated soon. I loved N.K Jemisin’s other books but I haven’t read the Inheritance trilogy yet.
I hope you enjoy all of these reads!
I loved Circe – I thought it was even better than The Song of Achilles. I hope you enjoy your spring reading!
Piranesi is a favorite of mine so I hope you enjoy it!
