Weddings are all about you, the bride, right? Of course not, because although the bride absolutely deserves her day in the spotlight to be spoilt and made to feel special, so does the groom.
Often the bride and groom will give each other a small token gift on the day of the wedding, taking a moment of calm and togetherness away from the busyness of the day, and this is the perfect opportunity to ensure that your groom gets a treat which is just for him. The question is, what do you get him? His interests, passions and hobbies will help you to choose, but here are some great ideas to get you thinking.
Cologne
At first, buying him a bottle of cologne may not seem particularly personal, but it’s a very intimate gift that will remind you both of your wedding day for many years. If he wears the scent on the day of the wedding, every time he wears it in the future, you will both be transported back to wonderful memories you share. You buy a scent and decant it into a bottle engraved with the date and/or a message from you, or even design a unique cologne for him.
Personalized Accessories
One of the most popular types of gifts are personalized accessories which commemorate the day. For example, a watch or a pair of cufflinks engraved with the date of the wedding or a special message for him can be worn on the day and then treasured for many years to come. If you would rather get him something he can use on a more regular basis, then why not a new briefcase or wallet with a personal message embroidered on it?
A subscription
If your groom is not particularly interested in cologne or accessories, he may appreciate a subscription based on his interests. For example, if he loves to read you could buy him a subscription that sends him a new novel every month, or a subscription to a magazine on films, horticulture, motorsports or anything else. Maybe he loves craft beer or wine? Get him beer subscriptions to a club that sends him samples. This way every time the new installment arrives, he’ll remember that you love and understand him.
Bridal Boudoir Photoshoot
A bridal boudoir photoshoot could be a present for both of you, but it will need some planning ahead of time so you can present the finished product to him on the wedding day. You get to spend a few hours getting made over by professionals, dressing up in bridal lingerie and then being treated like a model as the photographer helps you create a collection of images that show you at your most seductive. You get to feel like a million dollars and you will both have an album of photos to enjoy where you look and feel your best.
An Experience or Trip
If your groom is someone who likes to get out there and get his hands dirty, an experience or trip may be perfect. You’ve both been planning and looking forward to the wedding for a long time, and once it’s over, it’s common for couples to feel a bit deflated. Why not book him a once in a lifetime experience or trip which he can look forward to? It could be a driving experience at a race track, a hot air balloon ride, a safari or tickets to see his favorite band in concert. Ideally, it will be something you can enjoy with him, but the main focus should be on something he loves.
