I have been drowning in work the past couple of weeks, and I have no let up in sight. Not till October, at least. Le sigh!
In terms of entertainment, all I can just about manage is some lighthearted chick-lit, maybe a romance or two. One book I read recently, which was quick n easy, entertaining, and not too taxing for my overworked brain was It’s my Girlfriend’s Wedding by Sahil Rajput.

My Review
I’m going to keep this review short and sweet, just like the book. It’s a very simple story. Vivan is rich and handsome, newly returned from abroad somewhere and taking over his father’s business. Maya one of the employees catches his eye, and soon they are in a hot and heavy romance. And it’s really hot and heavy (going by Indian standards).
When things turn serious between them, will Vivan be able to put aside his other priorities in life and man up and marry her? At first, it doesn’t seem like it. When she tells him she is marrying someone else, he is more worried about a business deal he is pursuing.
So, a million dollars are more important than our relationship, right?
In a huff, she leaves him. Soon he realizes the folly of running off chasing business deals while the woman of his dreams marries someone else.
Next is a very DDLJ-ish style of story, where he tries to convince her to break off the engagement (easy) but also win over her family and get them to accept him as a suitable groom (not so easy).
I don’t want to give further details, as the fun is in the reading.
Suffice is to say that Vivan has to use all his wits and charm to get his happily ever after with Maya. It was entertaining reading to see how posh and polished Vivan is thrown out of his comfort zone in a semi-rural place, and heartwarming to read how well he can adapt and relate to the people around him. Really a great hero!
Overall, I thought this was a good book if you’re looking for some light airport reading or like me, are stressed to the max and need something not too taxing to read, this book is it.
