Monkey Bar in Indra Nagar is one of the few places I go to on my own steam – meaning it’s a joint I often frequent for purely personal reasons (apart from blog events).
Mainly because the food and drinks are so on point? Or maybe that’s because of the atmosphere – so unpretentious. There’s no elaborate theme or decor. It’s just a conveniently located place that provides great food and drinks for reasonable prices.
I had never tried any of their special menus, though. So when I got an invite to try out some dishes from their seasonal menus, I was totally game.
Aam party festival at Monkey Bar Bangalore
Even as the country goes to polls, there is a brand-new party just being announced! Head out to any Monkey Bar outlet across Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Kolkata to try out some of their seasonal mango delicacies.
We tried two desserts from the Aam party menu, which were mouth-watering. The first pic is the sweet pie mango. This is a luscious almond tart with caramelized mango cooked with rum and topped with vanilla and mango cream. And it’s quite possibly the most delicious thing I ate that afternoon.
The second dessert I tried was the Mango-almond chikki ice-cream sandwich with vanilla cake, rose syrup-soaked sev, topped with passion fruit, and mango gel. I liked this too, but it pales in comparison with the sweet pie mango – which has a lovely combination of textures and tastes.
If you’re a mango lover, then you have to head to Monkey Bar and try these and other mango-based dishes. Here’s the menu.
The Aam Party special is on till the end of the month. Do visit and check it out.
IPL menu
I am terribly behind in my post 😔, but even though IPL is over, I thought I’d share some pics of the lovely dishes we tried.
All the dishes were named as per the cricket teams – dishes ranging from Kolkata Fried Riders to Hyderabad Capt. Kheema, from Bangalore Chicken Challenger to Delhi Butter Chicken Bouncer and Chennai Kothu Super King, Rajasthan Lal Maas Royals, and Punjab Murgh of the Match.
The drinks were flowing aplenty too!
The drinks from the specially priced signature cocktails menu included their famous Mangaa (highly recommend!), Toast to Calcutta, Mad Men (whisky-based cocktail and another favorite of mine), and Monkey Masala Soda.
Overall, this blog visit has just cemented my love for Monkey Bar. I love how they innovate with the menu and presentation while keeping the place unpretentious and price-friendly.
A great place to chill with friends and family!

People are sick of drinking. But how did a brain-dulling, liver destroying substance even become a symbol of cool and pleasure?
