Star World, India’s leading English Entertainment channel and home to all things Game of Thrones, organized a Game of Thrones-themed dinner in Bengaluru to celebrate the final season of the world’s most awaited show.
I have seen bloggers from other cities blogging about their experiences at this sit-down dinner, so I desperately wanted to go. I am a serious GOT fan (books and show), if you don’t know by now. So, I was super excited when the GOT dinner finally happened in Bangalore, and I got an invite.
Read on to know what went down at the hottest (oops, coldest) event in town!
The Venue
Dinner was at the upscale Conrad hotel that opened last year. It was my first time visiting the place, and I was dazzled by the glorious decor.
The dining hall was fab; all decked out like a Westerosi dinner – decorated to look like Kings Landing, very dark and opulent. I felt as if I was eating dinner at Joffrey Baratheon’s wedding.
The menu
The food and drinks were carefully curated to match the emotions from critical scenes of Game of Thrones.
Johnnie Walker provided all the drinks. They had a special bottle of whisky and artfully named cocktails we sipped on while waiting for the sit-down dinner to start.
I need to provide more details on the whisky supplied by Johnnie Walker. I loved the design of their unique bottles.
Not only was the design super-cool, but there was also a hidden message on the bottle. The words Winter is here appear on the side when the bottle is put in the freezer. I might have to buy this bottle just for this cool factor alone. I’ll pretend it is a gift for K ;).
The food was equally on point. Here’s the menu that was on our tables when we seated ourselves.
It was a 5-course meal, and each course was inspired by a critical scene from Game of Thrones – from the defining Targaryen moment of the birth of the dragons to the iconic moment when Dany feasts on the horse’s heart and one of the most satisfying deaths on the show – Viserys and his golden crown.
Food and drink photos
Here are shots of the food and drinks we had.
The drinks menu was equally inventive.
I sampled all the drinks and generally loved them all (some were a bit on the stronger side for me as I am not a natural whisky drinker).
Here are photos of my favorite drinks.
The Entertainment
While we dined, critical scenes from Game of Thrones were played on the large screen. Plus, an emcee entertained us with his witty banter and quiz questions.
It was great to attend this dinner among other hardened Game of Thrones addicts. I had a super time discussing the last few episodes and speculating about the fates of all my favorite characters.
Overall, I immersed myself fully in the grandeur that was displayed. From the interiors to the food, drinks, and overall experience, Star World, the channel that is home to all things Game of Thrones, didn’t leave a single stone unturned to transform the night into one straight out of Westeros.
Huge thanks to the sponsors for throwing us such a fabulous shindig!
Oh my GOODNESS! I am so jealous right now! This event looks so perfect, the ambience, the food, the menu! Everything is on point to impress a fan of GOT like me!!
Oh wow how amazing is this. I am sure many Games of Thrones fans will love this for sure xx
Wow! That sounds like a crazy-fun grownups’ night out! And I LOVE the hidden message emerging on the bottle when it’s chilled – that’s so cool!
Wow, I have to share this with my friends who love GOT. They would wish this was in Japan, where we live.

Oooo now that is one fun dinner theme!!! I’m not really into game of thrones, but I do loveanything themed!!! So fun
I’ve never watched a single episode of Game of Thrones, but the detail of this looks astounding! I would love to do something like this that’s Harry Potter related some day. Maybe I’ll get around to watching GoT one of these days!
Look at that theme! I love when people go all out for a particular theme or in honor of a favorite movie, band or show. Looks great!
Oh how fun! I love Game of Thrones too. What a great idea! The decorations were awesome!
