Such is her Life

After a series of super-long posts, I thought I’d break up the content with a super-short review of a super-short book.

Such is her life is a small collection of musings. The theme of the book is women’s issues, and each page contains about 4-5 lines talking about one specific issue relating to women.

Here is the blurb at the back of the book.

You know her as a

Mother daughter sister wife daughter-in-law . . .

but seldom as a

woman,

and maybe never as a

human.

My review

This book attempts to shed the veil around women’s innermost thoughts and feelings and openly talk about some of the common struggles all women face. Because this book is so short, and because there is no context to the quote on each page, the author creates an element of surprise with each page I turn.

Here are a couple of musings I pulled out from the book.

There are many other such thoughts. Some you will relate to, some you won’t. Not everything deals with the oppression of women, quite a few thoughts are simple ones wryly observing the differences in the way women and men think and relate to life.

This is a slim book that can be read in a quick hour. However, it makes an impact with its words.

It will have you reeling in a wave of emotion long after you are done reading, this powerhouse of work will make you smile, cry, go red in anger, nod your head in agreement, and grasp the finer nuances of what it means to be a woman in today’s world.

Huge thanks to Fingerprint Publishing for sending me this book for review consideration.
