My reading slump has totally gone away with The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It’s one of the most compulsive reading books I’ve read recently, that is not from the thriller. It’s also one of those books with amazing quotes.
Here’s one quote that I kind of liked. It doesn’t reflect my views on life, but when this little girl from the book says it, it seems so totally true to her voice and character.

Have you read this book? Did you like it?
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I am so glad you are enjoying the book….it is a beautiful book 🙂
Happy reading!
God I love that book. I clasped my hands to my heart just thinking about it.
I haven’t read it yet but want to. Love the quote though. Here’s my Teaser Tuesday
Yes, I loved this book and I remember this quote!

I loved this book too – so glad it got you out of the reading slump! Great teaser choice too.
After watching the movie I went on Amazon and purchased the book! The movie is amazing too!

@disqus_Ogsi4NMol1:disqus really? I read some mixed reviews about it, and thought it didn’t do too well. I do want to watch the movie too.
You should! Everyone is different, of course, but I enjoyed the movie a great deal!
I really need to read this book! Great teaser! Here is mine:

I loved this book when I read it. I still haven’t seen the movie.
I started this one a while ago but couldn’t get into it. I’m glad you are enjoying it. My YA teaser this week comes from Book Scavenger by Jennifer Chambliss Bertman. Happy reading!
The Book Thief isn’t high on my list of favourites, but I did tease it last year as well:

This week I have an excerpt from the iconic Joanna Penn: http://pdworkman.com/excerpt-from-stone-of-fire/
@pdw965:disqus I understand, it’s very readable, but I do seem to have problems with the book as it progresses through the middle parts. I think I need to read the end until I can decide which way I go regarding this book. Have you reviewed this one? I need to check it out.
I think that if I’d been reading it on my phone rather than listening to the audiobook, I probably would have given up on it. I have a bit more tolerance if I am running…
What I liked about it…
– gritty
– unique perspective
– interesting language
What I didn’t like about it…
– foul language in both English and German
– I’m not big on war books
– depressing
– too much exposition
– character arc was pretty much flat
I loved this book too! My favorite quotes will be:
.When a person’s last response was Saumensch or Saukerl or Arschloch, you knew you had them beaten.
Thanks for sharing, Nishita!
Awesome book to read. Keep some tissues handy. It is so so beautiful to read.
@elizabeth_joseph:disqus Oh, yes, I need a whole box, I think 🙂
