Wordless Wednesday: Another Raza

I’ve been asked a couple of times what’s happening with Snubnose’s art, and I realized I don’t post too many pics of what she’s doing these days.

Actually, she’s still going strong and doing some great stuff. The thing is I struggle to photograph them properly. Some of her works are really quite big, and I struggle to capture them in their entirety with my camera. And once I frame her art work, it’s even harder to photograph because the reflection of the glass gets in the way of a good photo.

I really need to up my game when it comes to photography (especially large still-life).

Anyway, here’s a smaller one that I was able to capture.

A Flower in the Style of Raza

She has used oil pastels to draw and color a flower. It’s actually a much larger art work but I decided to focus on this one portion in order to get a clear shot.

She says she’s drawn this flower in the style of S.H.Raza, an artist she really admires. I couldn’t actually find anything similar of his on the net, but I guess she’s talking about the colors she has used.

Here’s another S.H.Raza attempt that she did a couple of years ago.

Do you have any tips on photographing art?

As always, I am very happy to see any work by Snubnose. Do you take her to classes? Because her knowledge of artists and styles boasts of a good teacher. As for photography, I feel your pain – I have often wondered how people get their huge works photographed – I think it has to do something with a superior camera and good lighting.

@wantonruminating:disqus yes, she does go to an art class in Indra Nagar. Her teacher is excellent, and is an artist herself. She has taught her a lot about great artists and how to replicate some of the styles.
