Teaser Tuesdays: The Phantom Tollbooth

I picked up this book because it’s Snubnose’s prescribed school reading next year and I wanted to read it so I can help her when she gets into problems with big words and stuff. No one can say I don’t plan in advance 😉 , I must say though that I find myself enjoying this book quite a bit. It’s quirky, funny, and a little bit mad. Everything I like in a book!

I only treat illnesses that don’t exist: that way, if I can’t cure them, there’s no harm done – just one of the precautions of the trade.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

teasertuesdays31

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This was one of my nephew’s favorite books! Somehow it happened to get mentioned in a conversation and we started talking about The Phantom Tollbooth and our conversation didn’t make any sense whatsoever. He was talking about this book and I hadn’t heard of it and was talking about a 19th Century short story with a similar name.

Mine this week is a series mystery by Kinky Friedman. http://wp.me/pZnGI-eg
