Music We are Rocking To These Days

I know I shouldn’t be letting my littles listen to Bollywood music but when some songs are so, so good, and when I enjoy them myself, it’s hard to deny Snubnose the same pleasure.

One of my favorite songs (an old one) is Rock On. I love the music, I love Farhan Akhtar’s voice, and the dudes look pretty good in the video above too ;). So, of course, what do I do? I go and teach Snubnose the lyrics to the song, and we sing them together in the house all weekend long, all the time.

Are you waiting for a video of us singing? Well, you’re not going to get it. Both of us are such horrible singers that literally every one else in the house is plugging their ears when we get going.

Poor Snubnose. She loves to sing so much, but unfortunately she’s inherited her scratchy nasal singing voice from me 🙁 .

Piglet meanwhile has discovered a YouTube channel which he loves. Rather adorably called ChuChu TV, the nursery rhymes there are easy to sing along to, and the animation though a little jarring to my adult eye suits Piglet’s tastes just fine.

So, now you know what’s actually going on when I post Instapics like the one below. Weekends when we are not doing art, or rainbow loom, or football in the park are spent cuddling up together listening to songs 🙂 , and singing them back to each other later.

Btw, if you are wondering why our iPad looks so space-agey, it’s because of the cover. Knowing Piglet’s determination to get into and at everything, we had ordered the Speck iPad cover (purely as a precaution), not that we would actually give him the iPad to handle or anything.

The Speck iGuy cover available on Amazon probably offers the best protection on earth protecting the iPad through what have been some hair-raising falls.

But once it came home and we started using it, my gosh, I feel so confident to hand over the iPad to the littles for a little bonding over rhymes, during long car rides when we are stuck in traffic, or when K and I are in our respective conference calls and we need to focus on the meeting. The cover makes the iPad huge and ungainly, but it’s been a lifesaver, protecting the iPad from so many drops. Highly recommend it as a cover for when you have small kids.

@readingtheend:disqus She’s a fabulous big sister. Piglet is blessed to have such a loving elder sis. Fingers crossed, they are always this super-close!

@Avada@ashscerebrations: Thanks, personally I find that iPad cover a little funny, but there’s no denying its practicality, worth its weight in gold. Piglet is really not pissed with his sis, he just hates getting photographed 🙂
