Ever since I saw this lovely cover of Boats on Land by Janice Pariat, it seems like everywhere I turn I see some lovely underwater photography.
One recent photographer whose work I am really loving is Elena Kalis. I love her underwater photos of models swimming with sea creatures but I especially love her Alice in Wonderland series of shots. So whimsical and so beautiful!

Aren’t these photos simply amazing? I love her creativity!
Gorgeous! I love them!
(Serious question: How pretentious would it be if a book blogger instituted a feature that was like book/art pairing? I have been thinking about doing it but I’m worried it’s going to be more pretentious than fun. Thoughts?)
@readingtheend:disqus Jenny, that sounds like a good idea. Go for it.
I understand when you worry that it could come off pretentious, but your blog has always been a very sociable and friendly place. If anyone can pull off an art+book pairing, you can.
You’re right, they are amazing. We just picked up our first underwater camera this week. I can’t wait to try it out – but I have a feeling the learning curve for beautiful lighting like that is steep.
Wow. I love these!
Awesome pics. 🙂
Happy WW!
