For this week’s teaser, I am quoting an excerpt from Virgin Gingelly by V.Sanjay Kumar. In this excerpt, the protagonist is reading the following passage out loud from a book by Jeanette Winterson.
Book collecting is an obsession, an occupation, a disease, an addiction, a fascination, an absurdity, a fate.
It is not a hobby. Those who do it must do it. Those who do not do it, think of it as a cousin of stamp collecting, a sister of the trophy cabinet, bastard of a sound bank account and a weak mind.
~ Virgin Gingelly by V.Sanjay Kumar
Whoa, I never thought that I could be perceived by non-book collectors as someone with a weak mind š .
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) āteaserā sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesnāt give too much away! You donāt want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I’m not obsessed. I can stop any time I want to.

Don’t know about the weak mind part, but they sure must have lots of clutter or lots of storage space, one or the other. If I actually owned all the books I’ve read, my house would look like a library! We love using the library.
@Karen and Gerard more like a high tolerance for clutter? I confess I am always torn. I love to have lots of books, but hate the work required to maintain them dust-free.
