Teaser Tuesdays – The Signature of all Things

In the scientific world of the day, there was still a strict division between “botany” (the study of plants by men) and “polite botany” (the study of plants by women).

Now, “polite botany” was often indistinguishable from “botany” – except that one field was regarded with respect and the other was not – but still, Alma did not want to be shrugged off as a mere polite botanist.

The Signature of all Things ~ Elizabeth Gilbert

So far, this is a great read. It’s a chunkster, but a really easy reading one.

Have you read this book? Are you looking forward to it? It’s one of the most hyped books launched this month and so far, it’s well-deserving of all the hype.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

@writenotereviews: Yes, it is a chunkster, but very readable and fast-moving. I am almost done with it, and am very happy with it.

  1. I’m not sure I would be interested in this author for my own personal preference but this is a great teaser just the same!!

    I am a new follower!

Feel free to check out my teaser here.
