Shutter Island was the first Dennis Lehane novel I read (in 2004, I think), and I was completely blown away by the book. It is one of the best of its class (thrillers) throwing together a lot of scary elements such as an isolated island, a raging hurricane, a locked room, secret codes, a mental hospital, and rumors of mysterious medical experiments.
This book enthralled me when I read it, and I am extremely thrilled to see that it is coming out as a movie starring Leonardo diCaprio, and directed by Martin Scorsese. See trailer at the top of this post.
This seems like a perfect movie vehicle for Leonardo diCaprio, and I just cannot wait for it to hit cinema halls here.
How about you? Anyone excited to watch this movie? What did you think of the book?
Gosh! I am talking more about movies than books these days!! That’s new for me!
The movie was simply fantastic. The ending was absolutely unbelievable
The Martin Scorcese + Leonardo combination was simply gr8. We had downloaded the movie in March – after reading amazing reviews, a mnth after it was released in the US.
@Casey: knew it would be good. But there were so many so-so reviews that I was beginning to wonder.
Glad you liked it. Will look out for it as well
Oh, this sounds wonderful!
Thank you…this movie could be the movie of the year for me
I am so looking forward to it
OH I love DiCaprio & Martin Scorsese combined……. I would love to read the book too.
Oooh…yes, and I guarantee that you are not going to be able to guess the ending
