The snubnose keeps singing this popular kiddie song all day.
The lyrics are damn cute. It goes:
I love you, you love me,
We are a happy family,
With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you,
Won’t you say you love me tooI love you, you love me,
We are best friends as friends should be,
With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you,
Won’t you say you love me too
And, since she accompanies the song with the appropriate actions, I just can’t help feeling all squishy and emotional inside. In fact, all of us now sing this song, and I noticed that it averts a lot of potential stormy scenes. How can you possibly get mad that your child is not eating her food, when she is singing I love you? It works both ways too. When I sing it to her, she somehow starts to do things she would otherwise have avoided like the plague.
The power of words…
I am also noticing that since the snubnose has come into our lives, I have gone off all the cool hard rock music I used to listen to, and now have somehow started liking nursery rhymes and simple sweet songs.
Just another change that the snubnose has brought into our lives…
I used to have this whole CD of Barney songs. It was wonderful. 🙂
I know, these songs are so infectiously joyful !
