The last season ended on an interesting note with Jessica Torres (who played the role of Jessica Pearson) opting to leave the law firm. She was one of the strongest and most charismatic characters in the show, and I was curious to see how the series would now fare without her.

The good news though is that Macht and Adams are still here to keep the show going.

The première show of this season started pretty strong with Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Louis (Rick Hoffman) having a bit of a power tussle between them to take control of Pearson Specter Litt.

What I really like about Suits is how intense things can get and then suddenly there is a dash of humor to remind us not to take all the corporate-legal stuff too seriously.

And that’s exactly what happens with the Macht-Louis tiff. All things settle down on a humorous note.

That said, this episode sets the tone highlighting the challenging times for the two lawyers, since they always had been in conflict especially with their decisions about the firm.

Adams also is in a different and quite dark space. Just out of jail, and reluctant to get back to his old life and job, he realizes just how difficult it is to make an honest living when one has a jail record. It was sad to see that even his voluntary teaching job to juvenile delinquents doesn’t pan out.

I have a feeling he’s going to back at Pearson Specter Litt pretty soon. And I have to say, that does seem like the best place for his talents.

Overall, it was a pretty strong start to a series, and I am looking forward to catching the rest of the episodes.

Catch the episodes on Saturday at 7 pm on Comedy Central. It’s the perfect snarky TV watching for a Saturday evening.

I’m such a fan of Suits. I haven’t watched since Season 3, so I should definitely take the time to catch up on it.
