Maggie from The Novel Orange did a really fun tag last week that I thought was fun, and most important easy and quick to do 🙂 . Since it’s been ages since I did one of these tag posts, I thought I’d do this one 🙂
Four Things People Call Me Other Than My Real Name ♥
- Nish
- Nishi
- Gubbar
- Idli munji (because my face is really round)
Four Places I Have Been ♥
- New Delhi
- Bangkok
- Hong Kong
- Colombo
Four Things I Do Not Eat ♥
- Meat or fish (I am vegetarian)
- Soya and artificial meat
- Cream based gravies (too rich and too bland for my taste)
- Coconut based gravies
Four Things I Am Always Saying ♥
- I love you, and give me kissy (I say these to my kids all the time)
- It’s okay if (fill in the blanks here) happens. I always say that when someone is freaking out over something
- Let me check and get back to you (at work if I am not sure about something)
- What shall we do today? (every weekend, that’s my standard morning line at breakfast time)
Four Places I Have Lived ♥
- Mumbai, India
- Chennai, India
- Sunnyvale, California
- London, England
Four Things I Am Looking Forward To Next Year ♥
- Being more settled into my new job and doing well here
- Piglet spending a full day in school
- Planning our next family holiday
- Snubnose’s school finally getting constructed and she going to the new school campus that is closer to our house and has better facilities
Four Movies I Have Watched More Than Once ♥
- Sholay – all time classic, I can recite lines from this movie in my sleep, I think. I don’t think I am the only one though, this is classic Bollywood.
- Deewar – another Bollywood blockbuster. When this movie released, my school actually took us all for a movie showing, it was that epic a movie.
- Satte pe Satta – this is a Bollywood remake of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. This Bollywood remake turned out in my opinion, better than the original. I am anyway a huge Amitabh Bachchan movie buff – the movies he did during the 70s and 80s rocked my world, and I have watched most of his movies more than once, so I am a little biased I guess.
- All the James Bond Daniel Craig movies
Four Places I Would Rather Be Right Now ♥
- Bali
- Chilling out at a tea estate somewhere quiet and peaceful
- Road or rail-tripping through Europe
- Mom’s place in Chennai
Four Books I Recommend ♥
- The Secret History by Donna Tartt
- Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
- A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R.Martin
- The Harry Potter series by J.K.Rowling
Four Television Shows I Watch ♥
Hmm, this is a difficult one as I don’t watch television much. I”ll just list some of my fave shows that I have enjoyed.
- True Blood
- Game of Thrones (currently the only one I am watching)
- North and South (a mini-series that used to come on TV, it’s based on John Jakes’ books that are set during the Civil War in America)
- Beverly Hills 90210 (this was a favorite during my teenage years)
Four Jobs I Have Had ♥
- Worked at an ad agency (my actual job role was client servicing officer, but that sounds super sidey now when I think about it >.< ). Basically I had to chat up clients and get their requirements, and then pass it on to the creatives. This was my first paying job 🙂
- Sales person at a book store. Such fun, I really enjoyed my time there
- A guest relations officer at a 5-star hotel. Even more fun, got to meet tons of fabulous people. Best experience was chit-chatting with the actor Anil Kapoor, really suave and fun to talk to, and I’ve ended up being a fan of him since. The worst person I met has to be Kamal Haasan who turned out to be a drunken bore.
- Video editor at an NGO. Meh experience, since I didn’t know anything about video editing or storyboarding. I learnt a lot, but overall it was a pretty dull job.
So that was the four things meme. I hope you liked it, if you are interested in participating, consider yourself tagged. Let me know once your post is up, I’d love to visit and read 🙂
Loved this way of getting to know you better Nish. That guest relations job must have called for a lot of tact – I bet you had some really horrid people to deal with
Yay! I am so thrilled to see that you recommend The Secret History; I’m about to start reading it! So glad you filled out the meme too! I really enjoyed this one! 🙂
@maggieseagraves:disqus I really liked it a lot. It’s not perfect but I found it very tense, and atmospheric. Very well-written and pretty fast-paced. I hope I haven’t set your expectations too high now 😀
