The 30-Day Book Meme

Have you heard of the 30-day book meme? I saw this over on Books Love Me and thought it sounds pretty interesting. I don’t know where it’s origins are though.

The rules of the meme are as follows:

Answer each question in a new post each day for the next 30 days. Here are the questions:

Day 07 – Most underrated book
Day 08 – Most overrated book
Day 09 – A book you thought you wouldn’t like but ended up loving
Day 10 – Favourite classic book
Day 11 – A book you hated
Day 12 – A book you used to love but don’t anymore

Day 27 – The most surprising plot twist or ending
Day 28 – Favourite title(s)
Day 29 – A book everyone hated but you liked
Day 30 – Your favourite book of all time

I am not quite sure how well I”ll be able to complete this. I mean I have never blogged even 7 days in a row consecutively, but I am sure going to give it an honest shot.

Today’s meme question is:

Day 01 – The best book you read last year

The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski
The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski

I read a lot of awesome books last year, but I think The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski is probably the most memorable. It’s satisfyingly melodramatic and tragic, and it satisfies my appetite for reading big chunksters.

So, yes. That’s my favorite book of 2010. Which one was yours?

As for the book, the review you wrote was great! In depth and filled with emotions! I liked the review and to be frank I dont know if I can endure the book! But after reading the review I think I will give it a try!

  3. I’d seen this meme on another blog I follow and thought of doing it…might take it on sometime soon…haven’t read the book you mentioned but my partner bought it last year so should probably be able to read it…

I’ve been wanting to read Edgar Sawtelle for a few years now, but I feel like I ought to do a re-read of Hamlet first since it is a retelling. I won it in a giveaway a few months ago, so I really have no excuse (plus, Tony gave me the complete works of Shakespeare for my birthday a few years ago, so I could easily fulfill my own Hamlet pre-requisite as well…). So glad to hear you enjoyed it so much!
