Top ten tuesday

This week’s theme is all about the books on our Autumn TBR!

Unlike years past, I have been pretty solidly tackling my TBR lists. I finished 9 of the books listed in my summer TBR, which means I can no longer do the easy thing and move books from one reading list to another. I need to sit down and actively plan my Autumn reading list.

And these are the books I have chosen.

Books on my Autumn 2025 reading list
  1. All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriott – The fam and I have been watching and enjoying the Netflix series, so decided to start on the books.
  2. All Things Bright and Beautiful by James Herriott – The second book in the series
  3. An American Marriage by Tayari Jones – A book about racism and marriage. Sounds interesting!
  4. The Break by Marian Keyes – Another book on marriage. This one is about a long-term couple undergoing a sort of midlife crisis.
  5. Circe by Madeline Miller – I put this book on my TBR ever since I read and loved The Song of Achilles. I don’t know what happened, I guess I got distracted and this book dropped off my radar. Back it goes on my TBR now.
  6. Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi – Another author who’s on this list because I loved her previous book.
  7. Pandora’s Jar by Natalie Haynes: Greek myths always pull me in, and this book about women in these myths sounds very intriguing.
  8. The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles – I never completed his more famous work – A Gentleman in Moscow, but I hope I will have more luck with The Lincoln Highway – a book about a road trip in 1950s America.
  9. The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O’ Farrell—I read Hamnet and loved it, even though it was quite gut-wrenching. I will be better prepared emotionally this time around with The Marriage Portrait, which also promises to be harrowing.
  10. Glorious Exploits by Ferdia Lennon – Set in Syracuse after the Peloponnesian War, this book will have all the Greek drama I need in my life.

What books do you have on your Autumn TBR? Which books on my TBR would you recommend I read first? Any books you suggest I drop?

It keeps slipping off my mind too. This time I am determined though 🙂

  1. I am so happy to see someone list the series All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriott.

I have kept my mother’s hard-bound copies of three of the books (they are pictured in my profile pic!)

Hope you enjoy your autumn reads.

Oh! I never knew there was an earlier one! I shouldn’t be surprised though. This book series is such a classic!

  2. Great picks! I really enjoyed Circe but I also have Transcendent Kingdom and An American Marriage on my TBR. I hope you enjoy the ones you manage to read this autumn 🙂
