I’ve been watching a lot of TV these last couple of weekends. It’s been rainy, and the weather’s starting to turn, and I’m feeling a bit tired and run down. But the TV watching has been excellent. There are so many great shows!
The Sandman Season 2

I didn’t really plan on watching Season 2 after all the Neil Gaiman news last year. It was so upsetting and I was convinced I could no longer enjoy the show. But the reviews were all so positive, and so I succumbed, and y’all, it’s wonderful. Uplifting, joyous, sad, all the feels. Tom Sturridge as Sandman does a wonderful job. Just his voice alone ᥫ᭡.
I know there are mixed reactions to his acting style, but I think he nailed it, and I can’t imagine anyone else in the role now.
Wednesday Season 2

Wednesday is back—weird and wonderful! Snubnose and I started watching this early on a Saturday, and we didn’t move from the couch all day. I liked this season even better than the first one. There’s no silly love triangle; the mystery is really strong, and I loved that the other Addams family members play a much larger role this season.
Greatest Events of World War 2 in colour

This is an oldie but a goodie. Piglet learnt about the world wars in history class this year. While he was talking about it, I mentioned this documentary on Netflix, and we all sat down to watch it as a family. I didn’t really expect him to get so invested, but the documentary is gripping. Just that episode on the siege of Stalingrad 💔. This show was a great opportunity to reflect as a family on how privileged we are, but also, how that can change so quickly. There were discussions on current world affairs, the situation in the Middle East, so many serious talks and answering so many questions.
Really impressed with how quickly the boy has matured in the past few months alone.
The White Lotus Season 3

I’m still watching this – midway through the season, but I can’t not include it here. Obsessed with the latest season already. The characters, as per usual, are pitch perfect, from the truly hateful (Patrick Schwarzenegger’s sex-obsessed Bro) to the so-far, so-loved (Natasha Rothwell’s joy-filled Hawaiian resort transplant and Aimee Lou Wood’s unwaveringly positive professional girlfriend). And that scene between the three girlfriends discussing politics….perfection.
What have you been watching lately? None of the newer shows have captured my interest lately, so I am happy that all my old favorites dropped a new season. Do you have recommendations on anything new that you have been enjoying?

Ooh, yeah, that reminds me, we have to finish up Sandman!
