Discover the Wild Side of Bali: An Adventure at Bali Safari & Marine Park

Bali Safari and Marine Park is a popular tourist attraction in Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia. It is known for its wide variety of wildlife, scenic beauty, and engaging activities for visitors of all ages.

The park has over 60 animal species, including tigers, lions, elephants, zebras, and giraffes. You can interact with the animals through elephant rides, tiger encounters, and animal shows.

The park is spread across 40 hectares of lush green jungle, making it a perfect place to escape the bustling city and enjoy nature. There are a variety of habitats, including a savannah, a jungle, and a Himalayan-style village.

What I like most about the park is that it’s a place to admire and learn about animals. The park’s dedicated education center provides information on the different species, their habitats, and the conservation efforts undertaken to protect them.

Initially, our travel itinerary didn’t include this park. For one, we have visited so many zoos and safaris in the past, and second, it seemed like Piglet was old enough to be introduced to a bit of culture. I looked forward to teaching him a little appreciation of the local art and architecture.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. He disliked the temples, threw tantrums when asked to wear a sarong, was uninterested in the Balinese dance, and was just so overall bad-tempered that I desperately googled for something that would be more his style. Enter the Bali Safari and Marine Park.

At first, I was put off by the prices – this place is not cheap, but I got some slightly cheaper tickets on Klook – which, btw is a fantastic resource for trip planning and cheaper tickets.

The next day, we went there and had a very good time. Here are some photos.

It was a very hot, sapping day. But despite the heat, we didn’t feel the strain at all. The zoo is very well organized, the animals appear well-treated, and they have plenty of space to roam around.

Overall, it was a world-class experience, and I no longer complained about the money spent on our tickets. It was one of the best days we spent in Bali.

I’ve had trips like this, that we had one thing planned but changed plans after assessing the kids temperaments. Sounds like you still found a great option for the family.

Yes, this turned out to be unexpectedly excellent. We were kicking ourselves that we hadn’t opted to stay in the hotel within the safari. You literally get to see giraffes and lions right from your room!

Would be awesome to visit this park in Bali! I’m not sure I could do an elephant ride – but would certainly try. Looks like a stunning place.

I’ve always wanted to visit a safari but I’ve never had the opportunity. Zoos are alright but you don’t really get to see the animals in their natural (ish) habitat as you do in a safari.

That’s true. However, I have to say that it’s a somewhat controlled “safari” experience. Large enclosures, but still an enclosure, at the end of the day.
