Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted at That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week you compile a list of ten books that coincide with that week’s theme. You can find everything you need to know about joining in here!

This week’s theme is all about the books on our summer TBR!
I am pretty happy with my spring reading list. Although I read just four of the books listed, all four were fab reads. The other books from my Spring list remain on my TBR while I continue to add more books that I intend to get to one day, if not this summer.

- Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr – I am a little intimidated by the size of this book, but I remember All the light we cannot see was relatively easy to read, so I think/hope CCL is also easy.
- In a strange room by Damon Galgut – I tried reading his Booker-prize-winning novel – The Promise; however, I couldn’t get into it, and it’s a DNF for me. Maybe In a strange room, which seems to be a lighter, travelogue kind of book, will work better?
- Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan – My daughter loves John Green, and she wants me to try his books. I never finished An Abundance of Katherines and disliked his writing style, but I think this collab with another writer might be a good place to start with his books.
- Breasts and Eggs by Mieko Kawakami – I bought this book for next year’s Japanese reading challenge, but I am in the mood to get started immediately.
- American Tabloid by James Ellroy – Classic hard-boiled conspiracy theory by James Ellroy. I have been meaning to try his books for a long time. Hopefully, I will finally get to one of them this summer.
- American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins – I have seen this book featured on many book blogs, with many divisive opinions. I hope to read it and make up my mind. The concept of a woman on the run from Mexican drug smugglers seems interesting.
- Moon Witch Spider King by Marlon James – When I first started reading Black Leopard Red Wolf, I found it so heavy that I didn’t plan to continue the series. But now, I realize I want more; I love his writing style. I will probably read every book he’s written.
- Tess of the D’Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy – This was on my spring TBR list. I have read it in bits and pieces and hope to complete it this summer. Fingers crossed🤞.
- Young Mungo by Douglas Stuart – After loving Shuggie Bain last summer, Stuart’s new book is automatically on my TBR list.
- Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman – My spring TBR included Mythos, which I loved, so I am back for more mythology this summer.
What books are you looking to read? Which books on my TBR would you recommend I read first, any you would suggest I drop? I have some travel planned and some shows as well. Which books from my list would you classify as easy, quick reads for summer? Set me up for success here, people 😉.

Nice selection. I have previously read four of the ten books on this list. I hope you enjoy all of them! I want to read that Galgut book as well while I just received my copy of Young Mungo.
Happy reading!
Ambitious list!! I haven’t read most of these, and I am afraid I cannot categorize the one I have — Tess of the D’Ubervilles — as an easy, quick summer read. 😛 Can’t wait to hear your opinions on all of these!
It was on my spring list as well, I have been reading it off and on, but it is yet to take off for me. Only about 30% in, and still hard going.
I’ve never read Tess of the D’Urbervilles. May you enjoy it!
