The Ritz Carlton in Bangalore really showcased the magic of Christmas dreams with their spectacular Christmas party. The party was held on the lawns of the Ritz-Carlton. The weather didn’t play spoil sport, and so we had a wonderfully balmy evening hanging out with friends.
Most of the food at the party was from Ganache. Ganache is their gourmet retail promenade that offers a range of patisserie, bakes, fragrances, gourmet teas and coffees. The chocolates and sweet treats from Ganache are particularly mind-blowing.
The tables were groaning under all manners of sweet treats – ranging from cookies (amazingly good), macarons (pretty and sweet), cakes, desserts, fancy cheeses, and more.
I really went crazy with the cookies and small chocolates. But among the baked desserts, here are my favorites – rather predictably they involve a combination of chocolate and berry, which is my favorite type of dessert.
To accompany the food there were options of hot chocolate and bubbly.
Going by the massive head cold I had, I really should have stuck to the hot chocolate, but I couldn’t resist a chill glass of rosé that was being offered. I then topped that with some white wine.
The staff also pressed a mulled wine into my hand at the end of the day. The wine was warm and delicious and cozy and somewhat offset the damage of all the chilled drinks. Still, my throat hasn’t recovered yet!
No Christmas party is complete without a Santa Claus and gifts. Mid-party Santa came riding on his sparkly bicycle (in lieu of a sleigh and reindeer), and distributed presents to all and sundry.
I don’t often have age-envy, but when I saw all the tiny tots getting some awesome presents (I saw some Lego!), and all I got was some candy, well, let me just say there was some fair amount of heartburn 😀 .
Still, it was an awesome party. I ended up staying longer than I planned to. It became a bit of a running joke when I kept telling everyone I absolutely had to leave, and then ended up staying back for one last drink, one last cookie, or one last selfie.
Such a great time. This party really kick-started the Christmas season for me, and was perfect to put me in just the right mood for party season!
