Teaser Tuesdays: Daughter of Smoke and Bone

I started reading this book over the weekend and despite my reservations about YA Fantasy novels (I really went off them after my Fallen and Twilight experiences), I think I may just end up liking this one.

It is a condition of monsters that they do not perceive themselves as such. The dragon, you know, hunkered in the village devouring maidens, heard the townsfolk cry ‘Monster!’ and looked behind him.

Here’s another quote running along the same lines:

Have you ever asked yourself, do monsters make war, or does war make monsters?

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

  1. Yep, I really liked Daughter of Smoke & Bone. The second book is also good, and the third one is gooooood, but I had some minor problems with it? Mostly just an excellent series, though.

@readingtheend:disqus Oh! That’s good to know. I’ve just come to the love part between her and the angel and I am apprehensive that they will go all loony moony over each other and the story will go downhill.

I agree with you about Twilight — a disappointment to me. However, this book sounds like a good one.

    My Tuesday post features SERENA.
