We were all eagerly looking forward to the long weekend Mayday break for a chance to just chill together without any birthday party, or boring errands, or stuff to do. It was supposed to be a weekend just at home doing stuff.
Eventually (because we are not really the sitting at home and lounging type), it turned out to be a pretty hectic weekend doing a lot of major, major home improvement stuff. But Mayday itself started out pretty leisurely with me cracking open a box of Playdoh and Piglet and Snubnose deciding on a project to do.
They picked out a relatively simple project from their Art is Fun book.
They just needed to decorate their clay pot with ropes of playdoh for this project, and I thought it was simple and quick enough for both of them to work on without taxing Piglet’s crafty skills too much.
Then sat around arguing who does what for a while before getting to work.
I love these creative projects that are simple enough for both to participate. It really helps them work out the sharing stuff and learn to work together.
Eventually Piglet gave Snubnose the clay pot, she gave him some of the play-doh to make the butterflies and bees for decoration and they started work.
All they actually had to do was wrap rolls of the play-doh around the pot, and then stick on the butterflies and the bees. Snubnose went one step further and made a handle for the pot.
Yet another addition to their little art shelf 🙂
They’re too cute sitting down with their art supplies!
I love how you documented this. Very nice.
Here’s mine!
Looks like the kids are completely absorbed in their artwork. Great shots!
