Product Review – TRESemmé Split Remedy Shampoo and Conditioner

I am emphatically not a beauty blogger, far from it. But in spite of that, frequently unasked for samples arrive at my place for blog review purposes. Most of these go ignored and unused.

However, a shampoo and conditioner set is always useful so when the TRESemmé Split Remedy Shampoo and Conditioner arrived at our doorstep, we happily used this during the summer holidays after our regular swim sessions.

My hair is colored frequently, a combination of early graying, and hair that grows like weed means that I need to be at the hairdresser’s every six weeks to make sure I look presentable. Obviously my shampoo and conditioner need to be up to the mark to reduce hair damage.

I found that this product worked beautifully for both Snubnose and I. After using these the first time, our hair was much more manageable and tangle free. This was a huge plus in itself for post-swim showers. It totally got rid of that icky chlorine-y swimming pool smell and replaced it with something fresh and fruity.

But we found that regular use of these products genuinely made our hair softer and shinier. I didn’t notice that it actually did anything for the split ends though.

We used the shampoo and the conditioner in tandem and it worked well for our hair which is fine, dry, and prone to knots. The conditioner might be a little heavy for someone with oily hair.

I took a closer look at the ingredients and I was a little disappointed to see Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS) listed as an ingredient so if you are looking for a chemical free / environment-friendly shampoo, this is not the one for you.

The best part is the price. It’s about Rs.340 for a 215 ml bottle of shampoo and conditioner on flipkart. Quite the deal!

I was gifted these products for review purposes. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
