Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued and hosted by Crystal by I Totally Paused! this month.

My reading has been on the serious side all last month, and I desperately needed a couple of quick n easy reads for a change of pace.

To lighten things up a little, Penguin Random House sent me the following books last week:

I was so excited when I saw Mad About the Boy by Helen Fielding was up for review. This is the third (and final) book in the Bridget Jones series of books. I love Bridget Jones and I can’t wait to see what shenanigans she gets up to in this book.

The Case of the Love Commandos by Tarquin Hall is the fourth book in the Vish Puri detective series. I’ve read them all so far, and while his previous book was a little weak in my opinion, I think hope that Tarquin Hall will be back to full form with this one.

Huge thanks to Penguin Random House for sending me a copy of these books to read.

Have you read these books? What do you think of them? What books did you receive last week?

I haven’t read either of the Bridget Jones books. One of these days I’ll have to try the first one in the series.

I saw the first Bridget Jones movie but that’s it. I’d like to see the second and then read the newest. Hope you enjoy it!

How lucky to receive the latest Bridget Jones! I remember how she made me laugh in the first (and second) one!

@Meredith: She’s a bundle of laughs. She almost feels like a friend, that’s how much I like her 🙂

@samstillreading: I know, I am so looking forward to the joy of reading this book. I have a backlog of review copies but I don’t care, once I finish my current read, I am going to pounce on MATB. I just can’t wait 🙂

I’ve yet to read anything by Tarquin Hall. But I do own the first in the Vish Puri detective series, so hopefully when I finally do start it I’ll enjoy it as well.

@Shoshannah: I highly recommend the first book in the series. It’s a delight, since then, the series has become a little repetitive, but I am hoping this one will bring back the old charm and humor in these books.
