My brother is undoubtedly arrogant,” Tyrion Lannister replied. “My father is the soul of avarice, and my sweet sister Cersei lusts for power with every waking breath. I, however, am innocent as a little lamb. Shall I bleat for you?”

And here’s another one…

When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

  1. I got inspired by your feedback on the Clash of Kings and have just started this book. The number of characters do seem quite a lot, but I’m determined to wade through 🙂

Hope you are starting with the first book in the series. It’s quite difficult to catch on otherwise

      1. Yup. Starting with the Game of Thrones, which in itself is quite confusing. But I liked it and so am determined to finish it. My first love in this genre still remains the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.

@Anjana: I started The Wheel of Time series some time back, but could never continue with it. I probably got distracted by something else then. But, I have heard really great things about this series. Maybe, I”ll try it again sometime. It’s a pretty huge series though.

I own the books and love the tv series, but I still haven’t gotten around to reading them yet. I will soon though!
I followed you on twitter:) I’m assuming it’s a wordpress website because you have no GFC?

    Here’s my TT!

@Elaine: I heard about his killing off people. I didn’t much care about Eddard Stark, I think I saw it coming a mile away. But, I am reading A Storm of Swords now, and people have already told me I’m going to just hate the red wedding part 🙁

I tried reading this book and got a few chapters in, but just couldn’t get into it. There was just too many people with unique names and places all introduced at once. Just couldn’t do it. I, however, love the show!

Here is my teaser: The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova

@Allison: Yes, it was hard to get into at first. But, I like Fantasy books and I knew what to expect so that helped.
