This book is full of so many beautiful quotes. I randomly opened the book two different times to get two equally beautiful quotes to convince you guys to go out there and read this book.
Here’s the first one:
What did I know of life, I who had lived so carefully? Who had neither won nor lost, but just let life happen to him?
And here’s the second one:
And no, it wasn’t shame I now felt, or guilt, but something rarer in my life and stronger than both: remorse. A feeling which is more complicated, curdled, and primeval. Whose chief characteristic is that nothing can be done about it: too much time has passed, too much damage has been done, for amends to be made.
Such a beautifully written book!
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I agree with you, Nishita, there are so many beautiful quotes in this book 🙂 I like the two you’ve chosen!
Very poetic! 🙂
Nice blog…good teaser.

You’re right, both of those quotes are beautiful although I like the first one more. I think it’s really important to actively live your life, not let it pass you by! Thanks for sharing 🙂
