I have always used the Zomata website to look up restaurant recommendations. Now, these recommendations are also available in print, and lucky me was able to snag a copy for review.

The book version is very nice-looking with a lot of pictures. The way they have categorized eating places is good. For example, you can look for restaurants based on the type of situation…such as vegetarian, business dinner, street food, girls night out, romantic dinner, value for money, and so on.

I liked this categorization, but I also wish the restaurants had been categorized based on the location as well. The alphabetical order did not seem very helpful to me.

What I do love and appreciate is that apart from the restaurants, they also list the menu items that are must-eats. That’s really helpful if it is difficult to decide on the food.

The best thing about this book is that it has QR codes so a person can directly download the restaurant menu’s and photos on their smartphone. I didn’t try this feature, but if it works fine it is a really useful feature to have.

Here is a pic that shows how easy to read and attractive this book is…

I did notice that not all restaurants are listed there. I did a quick search for The Island – a newish restaurant (probably 6 months old), and it was not listed, although it is listed in the zomato website. Unfortunately, these are the limitations of print and can’t be helped.

Definitely, this book is a keeper. Total value for money considering the price tag (Rs.149/-) if you buy it from flipkart.
