Recently there was this huge discussion regarding male authors vs female authors after a controversial comment from V.S.Naipaul. There is also this very entertaining quiz where people were asked to guess whether a particular paragraph was written by a man or a woman.
Well, I got most of those quiz answers wrong, and if the following teaser was part of the quiz I would have gotten that wrong too. I just can’t believe that the following paragraph was written by a man. It just seems more Virginia Woolfish than something I would find in a D.H.Lawrence book that was banned because of too much smut.
This book is definitely turning out to be a surprise!
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
That quiz was impossible. I stopped trying after seeing the first few questions 😛
That quiz was hard! I only got four of them right, and some of the ones I got wrong were from books I’ve actually read.
@Jenny: I know. I got so many of those books wrong, even the ones I read.
Wow, I got about 60% of them right….but still, you can’t really tell, in my opinion
Intriguing teaser. I can’t remember if I’ve read this one or not, but I might have to take a look at it if my TBR pile ever goes down. 🙂
My Teaser
I don’t think my TBR pile will recover from the teasers this week! So many amazing books, so little time. Hope you will stop by and comment on my Clockwork Prince teaser on http://EmmaMichaels.Blogspot.com !
This book’s been sitting on my shelf for a really long time! Have to get to it soon and no it definitely does not seem like something a guy might say!
Interesting teaser.

What a wonderful reminder that this is STILL a book I need to read. Thanks!
I love that! I just tried my first D.H. Lawrence a few months ago with Sons & Lovers. Haven’t tackled Lady Chatterley’s Lover yet. Thanks for the inspiration to do so! If you get a chance, my teaser is here.
Wow, I had forgotten the writer’s style…it’s been many years since I read this. Great teaser!
Here’s MY TT POST

Teaser Tuesdays – House Millar books
I read this as a teenager. After all I’d heard about it, I was horribly disappointed with it.
Great teaser. My teaser is here
Wow! you are right that quote doesn’t sound like it is written by a guy 🙂
I hope you enjoy the rest of the book.
