Assam, Meghalaya. And Lonavala?

To get over the mid-week slump, I thought I’d share some photos of my happy trip to Assam and Meghalaya.

These are simply random images that somehow did not make it into my regular travel blog posts – because I hadn’t got around to editing, or I was wary of dumping too many photos in one post, or some other random reason.

However, these pics are too good not to share, and they bring back some happy memories, so I am reliving the fun I had while traveling through this photo post.

So, here comes the photo dump (photos in no particular order).

Kaziranga National Park

I have always longed to visit Kaziranga National Park in Assam. From my childhood days, I have been watching programs on Discovery and National Geographic about this beautiful place, but being in the north-east corner of our country, I never imagined that I would actually get to visit this place.

Especially of late, it has seemed just too cumbersome and tiring to travel. It was extremely difficult to co-ordinate both our work schedules, with the kids holidays. My work is unfortunately at its peak during the summer and Dussehra holidays, and I am unable to take off. During Christmas, the rates to resorts and flight tickets are just so steep.

Basically, what I am saying is that of late traveling as a family has become way too challenging. And when a bunch of people started planning a group trip, I was feeling restless and itchy and signed on an impulse. And I am now so glad I did. I really discovered some wonders on this trip.

Assam and Meghalaya Travel Diaries

A couple of weeks ago, I got the opportunity to travel to Assam and Meghalaya.

Before actually starting off, I wanted to do a post here, and find out from you all – the must-see places there.

Unfortunately, I was so caught up tying loose ends at work and home that I wasn’t even able to post a tweet or Insta about my plans, forget about an actual full-blown blog post. Anyway, we had a basic itinerary planned, and we just went with that.
