Sunday Lunch at The Whitefield Arms

by

Last weekend, Soumya a blogger buddy invited me to lunch at The Whitefield Arms in VR Bengaluru on Whitefield Road.

I have seen this place several times when I visited the mall, but never actually ventured in. I am usually accompanied by my kids, and I didn’t think it was a kid-friendly place.

But last Sunday was relatively free, and so I fed the kids some lunch, strictly instructed them to play with each other, no fighting, and then trotted over to VR Bengaluru to get some once in a blue moon kid-free time with friends.

by

Fabelle Chocolates – one of the most celebrated luxury chocolate brands in the country, launched its latest gourmet chocolate boutique in the city at ITC Windsor.

As part of the launch activity, the folks from ITC Windsor arranged an elegant musical soiree, which was paired with the most sumptuous dessert plates – four courses of pre-plated creations, made from single-origin chocolate sourced from Venezuela, Ghana, Ecuador and Madagascar.

Southern Heat at Barbeque Nation

by

On Monday, Snubnose and I did our regular stop at Barbeque Nation to sample some of their special edition Southern Heat food festival that focuses on South Indian foods.

Barbeque Nation always does these events in a big way – so when you go, you can expect a humongous variety of dosas, idlis served table side, live counters serving food prepared to your taste, and tons more food in the main buffet. You never leave hungry from a Barbeque Nation.

There was heavy traffic (so what’s new about that in Bangalore) all the way to the restaurant, and Snubnose and I entered ravenous and ready to do justice to all the food on offer.

Kalmane Koffees

by

Kalmane Koffees has long been a favorite hangout of mine. It’s the only place in a mall, I’ve found where you get excellent filter coffee without the sugar premixed in (I loathe sugar in my coffee).

So, when I got an email saying that the Kalmane Koffees in VR Mall had just undergone a makeover, and would I like to come and take a look, and try out their coffees, I jumped at the opportunity.

Hangover

by

Hangover on 12th Main Road in Indra Nagar celebrated its first anniversary recently, and they did it in style with a lovely printed invite to our house. Hangover does some marvelous alcohol, so in spite of release deadlines and everything, we cleared up our calendars for the evening to go visit.

Signature Mornings @ITCHotels – Carefully Sourced and Mindfully Prepared

by

On Sunday, World Environment Day, the folks at ITC Gardenia called me over to brief me about the measures they take towards sustainable luxury (more on that in an upcoming post). We met up for breakfast and tried their Signature Mornings offerings. This is their healthy offering where apart from their regular breakfast buffet at Cubbon Pavilion, ...

The Spring Asparagus Sojourn at Ottimo, ITC Gardenia

by

Inspired by the Spring weather in Italy, Chefs Vittorio and Sasha from Ottimo, ITC Gardenia have come up with a set of unique dishes that showcase all the best qualities of the asparagus – both green and white versions.

And of course K and I had to visit and try out their delectable creations.

Arigato Edo

by

When I received an invite from the wonderful people at ITC Gardenia to give their Japanese fine dining restaurant Edo a try, I was in two minds.

Being a vegetarian, did it really make sense for me to accept a blogger review invitation where most of the dishes would be beyond me? I mean, what would I even talk about?
