Have you heard of Fantasie Chocolates? I confess I hadn’t until a wonderful invite landed in my inbox asking me would I like to come take part in a workshop about chocolate by the founder and creative head of Fantasie Chocolate – Zeba Kohli.

Would I? Of course! For a chocoholic like me, an opportunity to try out a new brand of chocolate is like an opportunity to try manna from heaven.

Zeba Kohli is an Indian chocolatier, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. Swiss-trained in a Cordon Bleu confectionery school, this is a woman who knows her stuff. She worked for Lindt Chocolates for many years before deciding to create her own chocolate brand – Fantasie Chocolate.

A Toony Brunch with Nickelodeon and JW Marriott

A Toony Brunch with Nickelodeon and JW Marriott

JW Marriott does a regular Sunday brunch at their property on Vittal Mallya Road in Bangalore, and it’s quite a nice brunch. However, last weekend, the brunch was a tad extra-special thanks to the intervention of Nickelodeon.

Nickelodeon India – the TV channel that has spawned the likes of Motu Patlu, Pakdam Pakdai, and Shiva organizes plenty of live events across India giving kids the opportunity to mingle with their favorite cartoon characters and generally have fun with Nickelodeon outside of the house as well.

Last weekend, Nickelodeon partnered with JW Marriott for their Sunday brunch, and we just couldn’t resist the opportunity to have a go-see. We have attended past Nick events with my daughter Snubnose, but this was Piglet’s first time, and he was super-excited when I mentioned all his favorite cartoon characters would be there to meet him.

Last weekend, I had an exciting opportunity to go see Chef Shazia Khan cook up some delicacies for us, and hopefully pick up some nice recipes and cooking tips to share with you all.

For those who aren’t aware, Shazia Khan is an Indian chef. She participated in MasterChef India (season 2),and was the Runner-Up in the competition.

I went primarily for the foodie bits, but I came away impressed by Shazia as a person as well.

Southern Heat at Barbeque Nation

Southern Heat at Barbeque Nation

On Monday, Snubnose and I did our regular stop at Barbeque Nation to sample some of their special edition Southern Heat food festival that focuses on South Indian foods.

Barbeque Nation always does these events in a big way – so when you go, you can expect a humongous variety of dosas, idlis served table side, live counters serving food prepared to your taste, and tons more food in the main buffet. You never leave hungry from a Barbeque Nation.

There was heavy traffic (so what’s new about that in Bangalore) all the way to the restaurant, and Snubnose and I entered ravenous and ready to do justice to all the food on offer.

Anniversary Celebrations

Anniversary Celebrations

The kids always expect something big for our wedding anniversary celebrations, and it’s usually pretty easy to deliver as our anniversary is just one day prior to Children’s Day in India. So, there’s always something to do.

This year, we opted to do the Sunday brunch at Limelight in Royal Orchid Hotel off Airport Road.
