We went to 1131 Bar + Kitchen on 100 Feet Road, Indra Nagar to try their Sunday Mediterranean Brunch. This was my first visit to the place, and I came away impressed by the lovely relaxing ambience, and the quality of their food and cocktails.
Unlike most other resto-bars I visit, this place is bright and airy, with a very green vibe to it (courtesy the vertical garden wall).
You can opt to sit on the wooden benches (great for big parties and office get togethers), or you can sit on bar stool type seating.
We opted for the benches just because the weather was so good, and we could get a much-needed dose of Vitamin D from the sun.
Also, I won’t lie. The excellent lighting makes for good photos for our drinks and food 🙂 .
Contrary to what I initially thought, the electric lemonade is a cocktail, not a mocktail.
The most interesting cocktail on the menu (and the prettiest) was this beer chili.
Cocktails are not the only drinks on the menu. There is a wide variety of beers, craft beers, scotch whiskeys, IMFL (Indian-made foreign liquor) drinks, and mocktails.
Here is a quick look at the menu options that were available to us as part of the Sunday Mediterranean Brunch.
As you can see from the menu above, there are quite a few options available to suit all types of taste buds. Here are pics of some of my favorites.
I can never resist a good potato-ey starter, and the loaded potato wedges in the photo above were amazing.
So were the Croatian deviled eggs in the photo below.
Now, I don’t know how Croatian deviled eggs are supposed to taste. However, these were pretty tasty, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Other winners were the Corn and Olive cheese balls and the Mediterranean spring rolls.
After gorging on the starters, it was a bit of a struggle to tackle the main course and the desserts, but when I saw the range of options available, I managed to find some room in my tummy for more food.
I loved the breads. So delicious! I wish there had been a soup to go with it though. Maybe there was, and I didn’t spot it. Anyway, I went straight to the main course.
I was so thrilled when I saw the grilled eggplant that I had tried in Egypt that I helped myself to a heaping big piece. Sucker for grilled veggies too, so that went on my plate as well. I was a little skeptical initially of the Baked Penne Mamarosa. It looked a bit too rich and heavy. However, it was extremely tasty, and I loved every bit of it.
Snubnose tried the Herb Butter Rice with the Slow Cooked Roman Chicken. She liked it but it wasn’t spicy enough for her palate.
And now we come to desserts.
I shared this selection of desserts with my buddy and Snubnose. Out of the wide selection on offer, we picked the Coffee Caramel Panna Cotta, Apple Crumble Tart, and Dark Chocolate Fudge cake. Out of these, the Coffee Caramel Panna Cotta was a clear winner. The dark chocolate fudge was pretty decent too. The apple crumble tart was a bit too crumbly, and the apple taste was a bit too distinct. I wish I had some space in my tummy to try the blueberry tarte, and mascarpone mango mousse, which the other bloggers told me were excellent.
Unfortunately, it’s just not possible to try everything at a tasting.
However, I hope I have tried enough and covered enough items to convince you to go try out this place ASAP.
