Welcome to Mailbox Monday.

I received an interesting and eclectic selection of books all last month and this is a pretty late post listing all of them.

The thing is, I am expecting more books to come along, and I thought I’d do one massive mailbox post instead of doing 2-3 books a week. But unfortunately, thanks to the Indian Postal Service and the many holidays at this seasonal time, the books I was expecting never came, and I decided not to wait any longer and just do a post with what books I have.

The first two books I got are Queen of Shadows by Sarah J.Maas and One by Sarah Crossan. Queen of Shadows had me compulsively reading the entire Throne of Glass series, and I enjoyed every moment of it.

One by Sarah Crossan is a very different sort of book. Written entirely in verse, it’s a story about conjoined twins, and even before I started on the story, I knew how it was likely to end. Still, I am liking what little I have read of this book.

I received both these books from Bloomsbury Publishing.

Shakuntala – The Woman Wronged by Utkarsh Patel is one of the two Indian books I received. This is based on the mythological story of Shakuntala who appears in the Mahabharata. I don’t know too much about this character, and I am definitely interested to learn more.

The last book I got is The Big Indian Wedding, The Ultimate Guide for Dummies written by Sakshi Salve. Not really my cup of tea, but Snubnose happened to see the promotional email and when she saw it contains a wedding journal she was over the moon with joy. So yes, that’s how this particular book entered our house. It is packaged very nicely, and it seems like light-hearted fun reading.

So these are the books that I got last month. What books did you get? What are you looking forward to reading?

I hope your books are as good as they look. The cover of Shakuntala – The Woman Wronged is gorgeous!

  3. So many lovely books in my mailbox this month! I got two mysteries set in my dear New Orleans, a hardcover (!!) copy of Nimona (which I’m rereading very slowly, to make it last longer), a beautiful book journal, some Hillary Clinton paper dolls because why not, and a book by Maira Kalman. Book mail truly is the best mail.

One sounds intriguing…And I love the paper art on the cover! Also, more sarah j. maas! I truly need to stop saying I’ll read it and just start reading the series already, lol. This week I’m reading A long way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers for the sci-fi month read along!

@sharrycee:disqus I think you should wait till all the books in the series are out. They are just too addictive reading, and I hate getting into that stuck in the middle of a series mode waiting for the next book to come.

I started One last weekend, and it’s pretty amazing stuff.
