Last week I got some really intriguing books by some not known to me authors.

I am particularly excited about the two Sidney Chambers books – The Forgiveness of Sins and The Problem of Evil. These are books three and four in the Sidney Chambers Grantchester mystery series. The Grantchester Mysteries is a series of crime fiction books of short stories by the British author James Runcie, set during the 1950s in Grantchester, a village near Cambridge in England. The books feature the clergyman-detective Canon Sidney Chambers. It’s been ages since I read a good mystery and these look pretty good. I am already half in love with the books based on the lovely covers alone.

Another intriguing book I received is Outlaws originally written in Spanish by the novelist Javier Cercas, and now translated into English. This is publicized as a compelling story about a group of friends in Catalonia, whose lives are affected because of a crime committed in their youth.

I received all three books from Bloomsbury Publishing.

The last book I received was The Prince of Music – a biography of the late music director R.D. Burman penned by Khagesh Dev Burman. I am a huge fan of Burman’s work, and I look forward to an entertaining inside look into his life and music. This book came to me from Rupa Publishers.

Have you read these books? What do you think of them? What books did you receive last week? What are you looking forward to reading?
