Mailbox Mondays – A Surprise Unboxing

Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued.

This week, I am trying something different in my Mailbox Monday post. I am featuring something that came in the mail – something related to books, but not actually a book.

It is a lovely surprise from Westland Publishing. They had contacted me a few weeks back asking me if I would be interested in participating in a new PR campaign to promote Amish Tripathi’s newest book that is coming out. It’s all a bit hush-hush right at the moment, but I believe as the publish date comes closer, more details will be revealed.

Amish Tripathi is a hugely popular best-selling Indian novelist. He is the author of the mythology-based Shiva trilogy that consists of the following books:

  • The Immortals of Meluha
  • The Secret of the Nagas
  • The Oath of the Vayuputras

I of course, said yes, and received this box yesterday. See the video for the actual unboxing and me trying to figure out the clues.

Inside the box was the following clue with a bottle of some brown powder.

As soon as Snubnose saw the box and the clue, she got to work trying to figure it out, but I have to say beyond taking a wild guess whether the city being referred to is Indraprastha – the ancient capital of the Kauravas and Pandavas in the Mahabharatha, we haven’t got very far.

We also promptly lost the clue, and so I have taken the above image of the clue from Rupesh who also received the same note.

So basically, we have no idea, but can you figure it out based on the clue?

Have you read Amish Tripathi’s books? Do you enjoy them? Do you enjoy books based on Indian mythology? And what did you get in your mailbox this week?

@violetcrush:disqus I feel like such a fraud because I haven’t actually read his books. I am really not that into mythological stuff but now I feel I should at least give him a try.

I’m not that into mythological either, but his ‘Meluha’ series is amazing! You should give it a try…

I may also have received the box in my office last week, but yet to get it due to the long weekend.

Nice that you did the video. Now I can send everyone a link to your video if I need 🙂

Taxila or Nalanda ? Taxila is now in Pakistan and has an ordnance factory there, so does Nalanda district in India by the way, which may refer to the brown stuff in the bottle – gunpowder?!? Lol! This is fun.

@wantonruminating:disqus I was thinking of Nalanda, but the clue seems to indicate it’s a hub today also, and I didn’t know if that was the case. Is Indraprastha modern day Delhi? I wasn’t sure, but that was the only place I could think of >.<
