Mailbox Monday: A Vlog

Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued.

Starting the new year with something different. I thought I’d try my hand at creating a vlog describing all the books I got recently.

It’s a bit amateurish, but I had great fun doing it, and am thinking of doing more vlogs on the side off an on.

If you are not into watching videos all that much, here’s a brief summary of all the books I got last month, but the details are in the video.

These books are by the popular children’s author – Enid Blyton, and they are two series books. One is The Magic Faraway Tree series, and the other is The Wishing-Chair series. I loved these books as a kid, and I am thrilled that Snubnose loves them too, and so I presented her the series to keep and enjoy. The details are in the video. Piglet also got a ton of books, one of which I have featured in the video.

The next books that I feature are the ones I got for review.

I got Jeeves and the Yule-tide Spirit by P.G.Wodehouse and The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri from Penguin Random House. I got Sita’s Sister by Kavita Kane and Item Girl by Richa Lakhera from Rupa Publications. All the books sound good to me (details are in the video – min:3:32 onwards).

So these are the books that we welcomed into our home last month. What books did you get over Christmas and New Year? What are you looking forward to reading?

What do you think of vlogs? Do you view them a lot? What kind of vlogs do you like to watch? I am planning to do more and improve my video editing skills along the way.

If you liked the video, give me a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel here. If you have any tips on feedback on improving my video, please share them here 🙂 .

Most of your books are new to me but I am familiar with Jhumpa Lahiri and would love to read The Lowland.

I’ve read a couple of Lahiri’s books and loved them. I haven’t read The Lowland yet though so I hope you love it.
I like vlogs but usually only watch if they’re not too long. I enjoyed yours!

  4. I loved Enid Blyton as a child – hope your kids enjoy reading the books over and over 🙂
As for vlogs, I only watch them on my tablet (disconnected my speakers for my computer to encourage studying!) but I do watch them sometimes 🙂
