Teaser Tuesdays: The Name of the Wind

I am almost close to the end of this book and while it started off slow, it’s really picked up the pace and if you ignore comparisons to A Song of Ice and Fire, it’s a really terrific Fantasy read, and I love the main character Kvothe who describes himself as follows:

I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep. You may have heard of me.

~ The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

@pdw965:disqus that is a series I’ve always wanted to read. Will definitely make time for it soon.

Sounds like a scary character with a huge ego. I like the book’s haunting cover and its title. I think I’d enjoy this story.

My Tuesday post features THE LITTLEST COWBOY.

@sandranachlinger:disqus LOL, yes, he does sound hugely egoistic doesn’t he? But overall in the book, he is quite a nice guy.

@kerry_o_donnell:disqus it’s a big book though, and the first of a series. It’s a big commitment!

I haven’t read this although I started it once, and fell away- maybe the slow start got me. I should try it again… I’ve heard lots of good things!
