Teaser Tuesdays: An Isolated Incident

I don’t know what to say about this book. There are so many wonderful, wonderful snippets to share, this is just one of many, many quotes that express the protagonist’s (an atheist who finds it hard to believe in God when he sees so many atrocities on Earth) feelings so well.

Once the torch in the makeshift camp was turned off and a ghostly darkness blanketed the land, Billy panicked.

Fuel was all, he decided.

It was the life blood of a modern nation, for what was the modern nation if not a place able to sustain daylight and defy God’s timings?

He liked that God could be defied; that humans could play God, be God, out-God God at least enough to command ‘let there be light’

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
