The Magic of Puffin in Bloom Books for Young Imaginations

Have you heard of the Puffin in Bloom books? I was scrolling through my Amazon recommendations recently when a lovely cover of Anne of the Green Gables caught my eye. Immediately I was poking through Pinterest and Google Image search to find out more about this edition, and hit bingo right away!

This book is one of four children’s classics being reissued this fall – sometime around Labor Day, is my guess. The books are:

  • Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
  • Anne of Green Gables by L.M.Montgomery
  • Heidi by Johanna Spyri
  • A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett

The cover artist is Anna Bond from Rifle Paper Co. Do check out her Instagram feed and the website – some seriously drool-worthy imagery there.

Anyway, back to the books. Won’t these books make a lovely present for some little girl? I would love to scoop them up in hardcover for my Snubnose, I know. Whether she will maintain them nicely is another matter altogether.

And if these books don’t appeal, swing on by Rifle Paper Co. anyway; they have wonderful old-fashioned stationery, cards, phone covers, and even some lovely temporary tattoos, all displayed on a very well-designed website.

I love those forthcoming editions; they look great. I love everything the Rifle Paper Co. does — for my sister’s wedding, I got her and my brother-in-law some of their personalized stationery with their little faces.

These editions are SOOOO gorgeous! All the beautiful editions of these classic faves tend to push me to own more than one copy of each. I have a Penguin Threads edition of The Secret Garden, and I have a feeling I’ll own A Little Princess in this edition. Good stuff!

Oh these are so cute. I especially love the Little Women and Anne of Green Gables ones. The Heidi cover is a little hard to read, though, don’t you think? – with the yellow lettering on the yellow background. I’d have been thrilled if I’d got these as gifts, though, definitely. As for keeping them pretty, old worn over-read books have their own charm. 🙂

@priyatabularasa:disqus yes, Anne of Green Gables is my favorite too. I went back and looked at the Heidi cover after your comment and you’re right, it’s a little hard to read. But yellow/gold are my favorite colors, so I don’t mind the overdose 🙂
