Trailer for Gone Girl is Finally Here

I’ve been looking forward to this movie ever since I read (and loved) the book Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.

I did have my doubts how the super-bland Ben Affleck would look and perform in the role, but going by the trailer he seems to have nailed it.

There have been a few hints thrown around that the movie may not stick closely to the book’s plot, but I don’t mind as I would like a surprise or two when I watch the movie.

What do you think of the trailer? Are you looking forward to the movie?

I am eagerly awaiting the release too. I am sure you are aware, they changed the ending in the movie, it was probably a twist too many for them. It should still make for a fun watch.

@piyushchourasia:disqus I know. I didn’t much like the ending for the book so I am really curious to know how they”ll change things up for the movie.

That said I am hoping for something unconventional and not Hollywoodized type of ending.

@dreamzandclouds: I love your enthusiasm, but yes, I too can’t wait for this one 🙂

Ah… thanks for letting me know that a movie is coming up. I think a tense, spooky, thriller background music for the trailer would work better. 😉

@JoV (JoV’s Book Pyramid) ha, you are the second person to comment on the music, I must be really tone deaf because I barely registered the music 😀

@fiveeyedbookworm:disqus yes, yes, yes. There are tons of mixed opinions on the web, but you should read it and judge for yourself.

It could be that the way the trailer’s done is meant to lead the viewer down one track, as the book does … and THEN …

I thought the music chosen was also interesting – if you’ve read the book, then you’ll see that it’s also a bit misleading.

@disqus_fT2TINuo2O:disqus I am curious, why do you think the music is misleading?

      • Monique

I think because it’s in one way a romantic song, and yet the relationship between Nick and Amy is built on a far more manipulative foundation than romantic love.

@disqus_fT2TINuo2O:disqus hmm, have to go back and listen to the music again. I usually tend to tune out the music so I didn’t notice anything off 🙂
