Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued.
I received the following books over the last couple of weeks.
From Penguin Random House I received Things Your Mother Never Told You About Love by Juhi Pande, which is a series of essays on love – basically the love advice girls look for and never (apparently) get from their mothers. In the author’s own words, this book is for all the girls who haven’t yet unraveled themselves.
The Black Coat is by Neamat Imam. It’s a book about Bangladesh in the 1970s just after getting independence and is supposed to be a dark satire. This book came to me from BookGeeks.
I can’t wait to get started on these books. Both are slightly off the beaten track in terms of the books I like to read but I think I am going to love them anyway.
So, these are the books that I am excited to read and discuss on the blog. Have you read these books? Did you get any interesting ones?

I’m not familiar with either of these. I don’t know enough about the history of Bangladesh to appreciate a satire. Things Your Mother Never Told You sounds quite interesting.
I don’t know these books…ENJOY!!
I like THINGS YOUR MOTHER NEVER TOLD YOU ABOUT LOVE.
Have a great week!!

My Mailbox Monday
Haven’t seen either of these before! I hope you love both of them!
Both of these are new to me. Happy reading 🙂
Both of those look outstanding to me! I hope you love them!
@bermudaonion_kathy:disqus yes, I hope so too. I am especially looking forward to The Black Coat. Bangladesh is a neighboring country of India and while I know the big picture of its history, I have never read any fictional account based in Bangladesh.
Things Your Mother Never Told You About Love sounds interesting….will check your review 🙂
@dreamzandclouds It’s a small book, I just started it now, the review should be up by next week hopefully.
Ooh, Im keen to know what you thought of the Juhi Pande book after all..
@disqus_r5ADRukA3S:disqus I don’t think I was the right age type for this book. It seems more geared to teens. It’s a quick read though.
I thought so too, but then most other things Iv read online seem to suggest the book is for people in their late 20s-early 30s which seemed very odd to me.
@disqus_r5ADRukA3S:disqus Aah, I don’t know. Maybe we are the enlightened ones and don’t feel the need for advice 😉
The Black Coat sounds interesting – a time and country I don’t know too much about.
@samstillreading:disqus This will be my first book based in Bangladesh. I am really looking forward to reading it.
