Teaser Tuesdays: Jeeves and the Wedding Bells

Do you think this is why writers sign copies of their books? 🙂

Then I took a deckchair into the garden, removed the tie, rolled up the sleeves and opened By Pullman to Peking, by Rupert Venables, which I had had sent round from the bookshop before I left.

I had been surprised to find that it was signed by the author on the title page, but Jeeves told me it was common for authors to scribble in as many copies as they could, since this meant the bookshop could not return them unsold to the publisher.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:teasertuesdays31

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
