Library Loot: July 17 to 23

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Marg from The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries.

Usually, my library visits are disappointing as all the popular books are always checked out. I have been trying to get Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere for some time now.

This time though I was in luck. Not only did I snatch up Neverwhere, I also got three other very interesting books.

In fact, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy sounded so interesting that I started on that first, and so far, it’s a lovely read. I think this is a classic spy story and I am going to include it in my The Classics Club book reading list.

The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje is an older book that I never got around to reading. It’s part of my Man Booker reading list, and the blurb at the book of the book makes it sound very haunting.

Neverwhere has been doing the rounds of so many book blogs. After reading The Graveyard Book, I promised myself that I would read more Gaiman and so here it is…almost 3 years later 🙂

The Tiger’s Wife by Tea Obrecht is a bit of a wild card. I have seen it featured on many blogs, but I really don’t remember anything more.

So, these are the books that I got last week. Have you read any of them? What books have you recently checked out from the library?

I think The English Patient is on my TBR list too, if not on goodreads, it surely is in my head 🙂 Enjoy!
