I got inspired by your feedback on the Clash of Kings and have just started this book. The number of characters do seem quite a lot, but I’m determined to wade through

Yup. Starting with the Game of Thrones, which in itself is quite confusing. But I liked it and so am determined to finish it. My first love in this genre still remains the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.
@Anjana: I started The Wheel of Time series some time back, but could never continue with it. I probably got distracted by something else then. But, I have heard really great things about this series. Maybe, I”ll try it again sometime. It’s a pretty huge series though.
Oh, this is one fantasy series I’ve not read yet. Or seen the show of as I don’t have the channel. But sounds great, thank you!

@Elaine: I heard about his killing off people. I didn’t much care about Eddard Stark, I think I saw it coming a mile away. But, I am reading A Storm of Swords now, and people have already told me I’m going to just hate the red wedding part

I tried reading this book and got a few chapters in, but just couldn’t get into it. There was just too many people with unique names and places all introduced at once. Just couldn’t do it. I, however, love the show!

@Allison: Yes, it was hard to get into at first. But, I like Fantasy books and I knew what to expect so that helped.
Good teaser! I started reading this book, got about 1/3 of the way through it, and didn’t finish it. But I LOVED Tyrion, he was my favorite of the characters. : )
