Armchair BEA: Creme de la Creme

Today, I am supposed to list all my favorite books that I read this year/looking forward to reading. I really wish I had something interesting to list, but I haven’t really read anything that could count as mind-blowing.

I am looking forward to reading more during the second part of this year and here are the books that I want to read:

  • Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L James books – because I just have to see what the hype is all about.
  • In the Classics genre, I am looking forward to reading Hard Times by Charles Dickens that I have waiting on my bookshelf.
  • I am also looking forward to reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Yes, I must be quite the only person in the planet who hasn’t read them yet. I am really looking for some light reading this year, something that suits me at this phase of my life.

You aren’t alone. I haven’t read Hunger Games too. Same for Fifty shades of grey. But there are soooooo many books to read before I start with them. I am struggling with a Steinbeck book (The Grapes of Wrath) which I have vowed to complete but I keep dumping it even though it’s a good enough book and start reading other good books.

I only read The Hunger Games last year and am fixing to reread it for a group read in a forum I visit. I still haven’t gotten to the other two of the series, but I might try to work Catching Fire in afterwards, since I have an ebook omnibus copy.

I need to read more Dickens too…

For light reading try the No 1 Ladies Detective series by Alexander McCall. Light and charming and set in Africa, which is cool because I learned a bit about Africa…

I loved the first 2 books of the Hunger Games. Really worth a read. I bought 50 Shades on Saturday. I don’t think it’s my genre at all but I want to know what the hype is about, like you.

I’ve read the first two of the Hunger Games series, and I’m hoping to get to the last this Summer. For a genre I don’t normally read, I’ve enjoyed them. I think what I like best is the ‘attack’ against the government which seems so very unjust.
