Do You Know What Pottermore is All About?

I know I am more than a little distracted when I have missed blogging about Pottermore. I am a huge fan of J.K.Rowling and have read and re-read her books time and again.

But I totally missed the 31 July opening date. Not very hard to do as:

  • 31 July also happened to be my birthday, and I was totally preoccupied with real-life celebrations.
  • There were so many hits on the site that I just could not access the page within the first 10-15 attempts.
  • Anyway, it’s all too late now, and I have missed quite a bit of the fun. I am hoping I would at least get an opportunity to register for the October launch, but that also seems closed 🙁

    Boohoo!

And the website and blog look so exciting. I just so badly want to go in and explore:

Also, here is an interview by J.K.Rowling herself on Pottermore:

As per the Pottermore Insider, all participants are asked questions and are sorted into appropriate houses, where they can take part in various games and earn points for their house. This is what they have to say:

The best way to think of Pottermore is as an interactive, illustrated companion to the books. J.K. Rowling wanted to create a site where her stories could live on and where readers could explore them in a new way. In addition to discovering new material from J.K. Rowling about Harry’s world, you’ll be able to interact with key story Moments (the Sorting Hat sequence, for example) and upload your own comments, thoughts and artwork for all the characters, objects and places that you come across.

Folks who are participating early, tell me, oh please tell me that I haven’t seriously missed out 🙁

Apparently there are all sorts of awesome new pieces of information you can read on Pottermore. I so much want this to happen.

aw, reading this makes me feel a little sad. I guess I’m not a true Harry Potter fan since I totally missed the date even though I knew about it. 🙁

@Jeyna: Oh, that’s such a shame. I actually don’t know anyone who’s been on the site (part of the reason why I posted). They must have kept it super-exclusive…

I haven’t even checked it out to be honest…makes me a bad HP fan I suppose. By the way, you share your birthday with Harry! 🙂
